17. Hoyt Electrical Instrument Works – Marion Hoyt

The Whitney Electrical Instrument Company, incorporated in 1891, was the forerunner of Hoyt Electrical Company. Electrical measuring instruments were manufactured under patents granted to Dr. Hoyt, who at that time was their electrician. Later he was made general manager. In 1904, he became owner of the company, which still remains in the Hoyt family.

18. Charles Street School – Eleanor Jones

Charles Street School was buit in the early 1900s for a high school. It was used for this purpose for a short time and then converted for students in the primary grades.
